This E-book is intended to give you an introduction to, and
overview of, the basic principles and rules which govern business law in
England.
Attempts have been made to keep the text as free as possible from any
specialist jargon.
However, there are occasions where use of the specific terminology applied
by those
concerning themselves professionally with the law is unavoidable. Although
these terms
are all explained in the text itself, it has been considered useful to add a
glossary of legal
terms at the end of this volume.
It is a well-known fact that the various areas of business activity, and the
laws which
govern it, are becoming increasingly international in their origins and
implications. This
is why a unit dealing with this international dimension has also been
specifically added to
this work.
Although this electronic handbook provides a fundamental insight into the
workings of business
law, it should not by any means constitute the only point of reference for
you. Therefore,
you are strongly advised not to restrict your reading on this subject to the
contents of
this book, and to supplement it by seeking professional advice
The law contained in this work is that which applies as at 1/1/2008.
Needless to say any
omissions and/or errors are the exclusive responsibility of the author
